Your local handyman in Longmont had his first painting job when he was probably 12 years old. In fact, that may be when he knew he wanted to be a handyman! So, can a handyman paint? The answer is yes. Painting Walls Painting walls in your home can have a significant effect on how you feel in your home. Let us help you and take this task off of your To-Do list. A handyman painter can assist you in choosing a color and discussing what kind of paint to use in terms of sheen (satin, semi-gloss, flat, etc.). We have the right tools to complete the job so you won't have to. Painting Trim Clean, freshly painted trim in your home can make all the difference. Trim takes a lot of abuse from normal wear and tear. If you have children in your home, it can take even more! Most painting contractors won't accept a job that's too small, but a handyman painter can. Don't be mistaken, just because the job might be small, doesn't mean that we do a sloppy job. Painting trim requires attention to detail, and the use of proper techniques to keep in clean and neat. Trim can also require some patching before painting, and we do that, too. Painting a Ceiling It isn't an easy task for the average homeowner to paint their ceilings. A handyman painter can take care of this project within a day (if the job-size is within reason). Painting a ceiling requires know-how, the right tools and the experience to execute well. Using proper tools and technique, our handyman painter will leave your ceiling looking bright and perfect. Painting Doors Doors need paint, too! Many contemporary homes have white doors. To keep your home looking nice, our handyman painter can complete this project for around $150/door and depending on the number of doors you want completed, in as little as a day. With all of our painting services, our handyman painter pays attention to detail and uses proper painting techniques. This includes preparation of the surfaces which can involve washing, sanding, and priming before paint is applied; taping off and masking areas to protect them from paint (think wood floors, carpet). Your painter will keep their working area organized and neat. And if it's necessary to come back the next day on longer projects, your painter's work area will be tidied so you don't have to step over it or have it in your way.

We get asked this question a lot. And it turns out that in 2020, most every drywaller in the state was overwhelmed with work because of the pandemic. Since everyone was forced to stay at home and stare at their walls all day, they began to notice all the little things that needed improvement- especially those small drywall repairs that needed to be done but were previously ignored. A handyman can do lots of things (refer to our Blog Article on "What Can A Handyman Do?" for an extensive list) including drywall repairs, patching, spackling or smoothing out those little wall dents that seem to appear out of nowhere. Drywall doesn't only need repair because of accidental dings and holes, but sometimes due to intentional changes that a homeowner wants to make. Like moving a breaker box, (see pictures below for before and after) for example. We recommend repairing any drywall that is damaged (intentionally or unintentionally) as soon as you can for the following reasons; other than the aesthetic that drywall provides by offering a way to create design features, it also has a very functional role which we believe is important for the homeowner's basic safety. Drywall adds fire resistance at walls and ceilings, and can contain the spread of fire so people can evacuate safely during an emergency. One of the most basic purposes for drywall is to keep the elements out of your house. If you have cracks or holes, they may let in wind, construction residue, insulation, pests, or moisture into your home. Because heat and air conditioning escape through damaged areas of the wall, your home is less energy efficient. Let Handyman Direct take care of your small drywall repair projects. This is a great question and one that can cause confusion for a homeowner. But before we dive into what a handyman can and cannot do as it pertains to electrical work, we do want to caution homeowners against doing the electrical work themselves (unless they are a trained electrician and have the skills and knowledge required to safely do the work!) That being said, if a homeowner is not licensed and because they are a "member of the public", they are allowed by the law to do their own electrical work. Keep in mind, however, that if the electrical work is not completed properly, it can be unsafe and illegal (not up to county or city codes). The short answer to this question is Yes. A handyman can do small electrical jobs. If it's simple work that is to be done, it may not be necessary to hire someone who is solely a professional electrician, but it's important to make sure the hired handyman is licensed and insured. After describing the type of work that is to be completed, a handyman should be able to determine if they are qualified to do the work or if it's necessary to hire an expert. The larger the job, the greater the liability- and because that is the case, it becomes important to hire a professional electrician for larger jobs. If still not sure about whether to hire a professional electrician or a handyman, the list below should give a good idea of who to hire when. A professional electrician may be called to Movie or replace any electrical wiring. Install a new electrical box. Work in the circuit breaker box. Complete major electrical work. Whereas a handyman may be called to Install a ceiling fan Install a light fixture It might help to look at it this way. If a homeowner wants to rewire a circuit breaker (major electrical), it's best to call an electrician. But if a homeowner needs a lighting fixture or fan installed, then they could call a handyman. If you decide to hire a handyman, always make sure they at least have general liability insurance policy which covers third-party accidents, property damage and anything else that might be damaged. This type of insurance is especially important for the handyman that's doing work on other people's properties. Bottom line, make sure your handyman is qualified to do the work you have described by checking if; They are a licensed handyman They are an insured handyman They have trusted references/reviews They are an experienced handyman
